There are plenty of artsy activities to enjoy with your family this Easter right from home. Buy a cheap egg decorating kit to make a creative Easter basket with hard-boiled eggs, create jelly bean necklaces, bake some Peeps cupcakes, or create egg carton flowers. You can find plenty of other activity ideas online, too.
Egg Hunts
If your kids enjoy a good challenge, buy some hollow plastic eggs at the Dollar Tree or a similar store, fill them with Easter candy, and hide them around your house. Then, have your children search for the eggs one morning to collect their treats.

Both private and public Easter/spring festivals are popping up everywhere — especially in New Jersey and New York. These festivals may include things like wagon rides, baby farm animal stands, scavenger hunts, food and drinks, face painting, and egg hunts.

Parades are held in many counties state-wide, so check out your town’s event calendar to see if an Easter/spring parade is on the agenda. Many times, children can also participate in these parades with decorative hats and springtime apparel, while others will throw candies and treats to children in the stands.

If your kids have a few days off from school, why not take a long weekend with the family to explore a new place? Head to the mountains for an outdoorsy feel, visit a big city you’re unfamiliar with a few hours away, or find a cheap last-minute flight to another state and enjoy an adventure.
